Cell Culture facility and Biomechanical Stimulation

At the core facility Multimodal Imaging and in the working group Biophysical Toxicology we can count on a fully equipped cell culture lab. In addition, as our “specialty” is to manipulate cell biophysical microenvironment, we have dedicated equipment for the application of controlled physical cues to cell populations. Obviously, we are always eager to collaborate with other working groups and test custom-made devices.

Key technical features:

-    CytoFAST Elite 215 Laminar Flow safety cabinet.
-    Ibidi Pump System Quad: pump system connected to 4 microfluidic units for the application continuous and pulsatile laminar flow, and oscillatory flow in long-term and short-term experiments.
-    Orbital shakers (i.e. MK3 control orbital shaker, IKA or MaxQ2000CO2 plus Orbital shaker, ThermoFisher) integrated in CO2 incubators for cell cultivation integrated with biomechanical stimulation.
